Challenge:
Getting the order information to the production machine is key to starting with the right numbers, and managing the production process
to keep everything in synch is critial. There is a PLC that runs the production machine, a separate laser etcher that does the engraving, and a bagger machine that needs the seal numbers as well as a unique
bag number printed on each bag. Each box gets a label with contents, and a packing list with seal details.

StrategyBytes, LLC created a software program to integrate all the pieces of the system into one coherent operation. The program downloads
order information from the order web site, and loads the seal information into a local database. The program has a series of 'handshakes' with the PLC
so the two know what is going on. The program sends seal information to the etcher and tells the PLC that the etcher is ready, the PLC starts the etcher and tells the program when the etch is done and the part is moved
to the next station. The PLC tells the program when the next operation is done and the seal is ready to be placed in the bag, sealed, and the bag put into the box. The program keeps count of seals produced, and the number of
seals in each box, and prints the box label and packing list when full.
Results: The system produces orders with the accuracy required, and has safegaurds to make sure the operator keeps the product in order. It can stop and start orders and keep track of where it left off.
